I believe in treating each client as an individual, with unique needs and concerns. That's why I take a personalized approach to care, tailoring my treatments and recommendations to each client's specific situation
The best healthcare outcomes come from a collaborative approach, where clients are active participants in their own healing journeys. I work closely with my patients to develop customized treatment plans and empower them with the knowledge and tools they need to take charge of their health.
FINDING ANSWERS. CREATING SOLUTIONS. PROVIDING SUPPORT. WITHOUT A COMPLICATED APPROACH.
While I embrace the wisdom of traditional healing practices, I also stay up-to-date with the latest scientific research on holistic health. I use evidence-based practices to inform my treatments and recommendations, and combine these with simple, uncomplicated lifestyle modifications to ensure that patients receive the most effective and safe care possible.
Most of my patients have a variety of daily symptoms that conventional medicine has failed to help. Most have been to many other providers and have been told that there is nothing wrong. This is where functional diagnostic testing combined with naturopathic treatments excels.
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct health care profession that combines the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science.
Naturopathic doctors (ND) are trained as primary care providers who diagnose, treat and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions, while addressing disease and dysfunction at the level of body, mind and spirit.
A visit with a ND can be anywhere to 30 min to 90 minutes. Visits are often more frequent in order to explore your health in more detail & examine the factors that affect your health.
Naturopathic visits do not focus on one complaint at a time. But are intended to create collaborative treatment plans to address your concerns, educate you on HOW your body works and to motivate you on HOW you can make lasting changes.
Licensed Naturopathic Doctors are THE experts in natural medicine
Naturopathic doctors receive rigorous and comprehensive training in biomedical & diagnostic sciences that is both comparable and complementary to that of MDs and DOs.
Accredited Naturopathic Medical Schools are four-year, in-residence, hands-on medical programs consisting of a minimum of 4,100 hours of class and clinical training. Students are educated in the biomedical sciences as well as the latest advances in science in combination with natural approaches to therapy.
I am not a "naturopath" or "integrative health practitioner”.
I use the reserved title of Naturopathic Doctor because it is what appropriate reflects my training & scope of knowledge. It acknowledges my Oath & honors my mentors & predecessors.
While both traditional naturopaths and licensed Naturopathic Doctors aim to help the body heal through natural substances such as food, herbs, and water, their education is very different, and their scope of practice and regulatory status vary from state to state and province to province. The titles “traditional naturopath” and “naturopathic doctor” (or “naturopathic physician”) are not interchangeable. A licensed naturopathic doctor (ND/NMD) is a primary care physician who is trained to diagnose and prescribe, while a traditional naturopath is not able to do either. In some states where naturopathic medicine is not yet a regulated medical profession, a traditional naturopath may on his/her own, choose to use the title, “naturopathic doctor,” which is likely to be confusing to patients looking for a licensed ND.
Only those who have graduated from an accredited naturopathic institution, may qualify for NPLEX Board exams and apply for licensure in a regulated jurisdiction in North America.
